Shaolin Terror Part 2

Yeah!!!!!! I'm back from the terrible shaolin place, I'm soooooooooooooooooooo happy to be back in Hong Kong.

I learned many kunfu stuff, but I'm in real pain. My right foot's toe's bone is broken, I wore a foor cast there and have to hop around with my left foot. Now I'm okay but still in real pain.

The Shoalin temple place is not a really good place, althought there is a T.V. and can play computer, it's not worth going there. First, you have to strech your legs and body which is the most painful part. Second, if they see you did an action wrong then they'll either wack you or make you do forty pushups,PROFESSIONALLY!!!!!! You will be very very tired after each class, but you get to sleep for 12 P.M. to 3 P.M.

So I highy don't recommend you to go to there, it's a real Shaolin Terror place.

Shaolin Terror Part 1

School ended last Thursday, my mom and Williams mom planned to go to Shaolin Kung Fu Temple for training. I've got to go to the Shaolin temple to learn martial arts, I'm going there this very Sunday! I'm not really ready to go there, I want to stay in Hong Kong!

It's a place filled with terror; I can tell, in the very near future, I will be in a terriable situation, it's going to be the worst month of my whole life.

I'll like to leave this blank until I come back to write my experience...

Three Miracle Stories from Recent China Earthquake

A very strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 hit Sichuan on Monday. Millions of people lost their home. The earthquake also collapsed buildings and killed many people. Chinese mass media reports that officials fear that many people are still, trapped in the rubble. There were some brave survivors who made the three miracle stories.

The first miracle survivor called Jiao spent her twentith birthday in the rubble. This is a miracle because she stayed in the debris in Dujianyang for four full days. She told the rescuers that she would never forget the experience, and she thanked the rescuers for rescuing her.

The second miracle happened on a 16-year-old school girl, Li Anning. She and some other school girls sang songs while they were trapped in the rubble in Beichuan. The last sentence of one the songs she sang was '' Blessing and happiness is the ending''. Surely the message gave courage to herself and the other school girls.

The third miracle happened to a 5-year-old girl called Li Chunchun, who had not seen her parents since the earthquake.

These are surely brave stories of the miracle survivors. There are still many more touching stories to be discovered.

Horse Back Riding

Have you ever gone horse-back riding, if not you should?

Well I'll tell you what, I've gone on horse's back for many times. Do you know why?
First, it's because I am learning horse-back riding, it's really hard when you first learn how to, but after you get used to it, you'll like it for sure. Second, horse-back riding in the Olymipcs is one of my dreams that I wish it will come true. And last of all, it's a sport that is fun.

So really if you haven't gone horse back riding before you should, really.

Dogs are Good or Bad?

Did you know that dogs can be very smart and loyal to their owners? This depends on how you look at them.

Some people think that dogs are loyal to their owners; they are also cute, and playful. But sometimes people think dogs are terrible, harmful, and ugly. I think they are wrong. Dogs are very smart and loyal if they are properly trained. Some dogs can even skate with a bit of training.

So, be ready to spend time training your dog if you want to have one.

If I won a million dollar, I would ....

If I had won a lottey of a million US dollars, I would have spent part of it on computer games. Why? It is because computer games are very attractive to young boys. The games are fun to play with.

Computer games are usually designed in such a way that children will get a lot of fun playing. Although some computer games are addictive, I think the fun of playing computer games should not be taken away by the parents. Instead, parents should help us control our time doing different things rather than sitting in front of the computer all the time.

The computer games are also attractive because the fun of playing different heroes in the story of the game is really exciting, and it is not possible in the real life.

Over all, computer games are fun. But if you really won a million US dollars, it would not be a great idea to buy computer games. You may spend too much time on it, and you will not be able to really enjoy other things using your money.

Early Admission to University

More than 400 students with excellent results in the HKCEE were admitted to university under the Early Admission Scheme (EAS) last year.

The top 420 HKCEE scorers will be allowed to skip Form Seven and start their university courses in September this year.

I feel the EAS challenging to me because it is not easy to get eight As in the HKCEE tests.

Book Report

Introduction of the story

The book, Pokemon Charizard Go, by Tracey West, tells the story of an adventure by Ash and his friends: Pikachu, Charizard and Ricky.

Ash was chased by prehistoric pokemon. Ash had a pokemon league and he challenged the guy called Ricky, an old friend of his. When Pichachu and Squirtle fainted during the battle against Ricky's Charmander, Ash could only sent Charizard or Bulbasuar. Ash did not want to use Bulbasuar because its type was weaker against Ricky's Charmander. Ash did not want to use Charizard because he might not listen to his commands in battle. Ash thinks of all that he had been through with Charizard and wondered if he could trust him. At last Ash lost the battle, but he and the pokemon experienced a lot, so that they could evolve soon.

Genre

The genre of Pokemon Charizard Go can be classifed as both fiction and fantasy for the following reasons. Firstly, some characters in the story, such as pokemons are imaginary creatures. Secondly, there are dinosaurs which are prehistorical creatures in the story. Thirdly, very advanced machines are found in the story that make the events in the story mixed with fantasy and imagination in constrst to non-fiction or factual characters.

Plot
I think the plot in the story is simple. Ash wanted to win Ricky. The disobedient Charizard causes a lot of problems to Ash. So there are a lot of action, excitement, and adventure created in different events in the story.
Ash has to use his Charizard to fight Ricky's Charmader. He lost because he had no more pokemons to use for battle. But he experienced a lot.

My Thoughts
I don't really like this book, but it's still an exciting book to read. It can be improved by having more exciting moments with a good happy ending.

Milla Lost her Voice

In this story, there is a happy cow named Milla. She likes to play and to say Moo to greet her friends in a barnyard.

One day her monkey friend saw her on the road and went to her and said,"Chitter Chatter," but when Milla wanted to respond, she coudn't make a single sound.

Then Milla met another friend which is a snake. She said ,"Szzzzzzzzz," then again Milla wanted to respond, but not a single sound came, no matter how hard she tried.

Later when she was about to rest, a dog came and said,"Roufffff," then this time Milla really tried so hard that she almost fell, but still nothing came out of her throat.

She then thought that she had lost her voice. Her friends tried to help. They got a big pot with some coke, then they started to stir it, and one by one they added things into the pot. Then Milla drank the cokish drink and felt very much better, and said," Mooooooooooo."

And then magically, Milla had her voice back and she gave big thanks to her friends.

Hi John

Dear John,

Have you ever wondered how much you weigh? If not, you should. Your weight is highly related to the food you take.

The amount of food you eat can have a lot of effects to the weight of your body. Some foods are good and some are bad for your body. Chips and fatty foods are high calories food. They add more weight than the other kinds of food.

My advice is that not to eat too much chips and oily food; but to eat things like vegetbles, potatoes, tomatoes, and grains .

If you follow my diet advice I think you'll be healthier.

Love
Sam

Calories and Body Weight

Calories is defined as a unit of measurement for the amount of energy that is released from food upon oxidation by the body.

According to the calories calculatorhttp://pediatrics.about.com/library/bl_calorie_calc.htm , I need 1,800-2,200 kilocalories per day. In order to keep my weight, I must not eat food more than about two thousand kilocalories.

I try to calculate my calories intake with the calories calculator, http://www.caloriescount.org/cgi-bin/calorie_calculator.cgi
For example, I eat the following types of food today.

  1. chips

  2. chicken

  3. rice

  4. bread

So, I can conclude that I take more/less than I need. So I will gain/ loss weight if I keep my eating pattern for some time.

New Train Service

I would like to introduce you to the fast train to Beijing and Shanghai.

It's like a hotel on wheels. It takes about 20 hours to Beijing or Shanghai from Hung Hom. The direct train service has a lot of facilities. The facilities includes in-room toilets, wardrobe spaces, safes, flat screen TV sets, muti-standard electrical sockets, and interal telephones.

The new train can carry 346 passengers on the beijing route and 376 on the Shanghai route. The train was made in Nanjing and can travel 167 kilometers per hour.

Three travel agents have aranged the train bookings to Beijing Olympics. Mr Leung, the MTRC manager of intercity marketing, said that the MTRC would increase capacity depending on demand.

What do I do to improve my vocabulary skills?

  1. I would study vocabulary words when I read daily. I enjoy reading stories, so I will learn new vocabulary from the stories.
  2. I would look up the meaning of words that I don't know from the context before I consult the dictionary. When I read a story I can guess the meaning of the words that I don't know. If I still can't get the meaning from the context, I will check in the dictionary.
  3. I would learn that vocabulary by studying its collocation. If the vocabulary is a noun, I will learn its collocated adjective and adverb. If the vocabulary is a verb , I will also learn its collocated adverb and noun.
  4. I would use the vocabulary in my speaking and writing. I would use the vocabulary word to speak to someone or on a writing project.
  5. I would never give up even I may feel bored. Sometimes I feel like English is just a waste of time, but I would never give up learning new vocablary words.
